From July,1 2013 the VAT rate in Montenegro increased from 17 to 19%.

The lower VAT rate of 7%, will remain unchanged. This rate levied on basic foodstuffs (bread, flour, milk and dairy products, baby food, grease, oil, meat, sugar), fodder, medicines, books, textbooks and teaching aids. It also applies to accommodation services in hotels (motels, apartments, etc.), public transport fees of movie tickets, museums, theaters, concerts, exhibitions, and in zoos, amusement parks and other cultural and sporting events.
